about

I now blog about my adventures in librarianship here.

This blog chronicled my adventures as a collection development librarian responsible for selecting YA literature, graphic novels, and media for a mid-size public library in a liberal Midwest college town, where I also contributed to our social media and helped out with teen programming. You can read about my librarian origin story and my professional life here.

This blog was a personal reading diary as well as  a place to share ideas with other librarians and discuss pop culture. I reviewed all kinds of books and wrote about programming and readers’ advisory materials, as well as discussion posts for those who serve library patrons. I occasionally wrote about movies, music, and other media. I also have a personal lifestyle blog, librarian style.

I made readers’ advisory graphics and booklists and index them on this page.

I indexed posts about various library programs and displays I’ve done on this page.

You can find even more of my thoughts on young adult literature at YALSA’s The Hub where I was the member manager from 2015-2017 and a contributor since 2013.

Why is this blog called “wrapped up in books”?

It’s a Belle & Sebastian song.

  1. I’m writing on behalf of Pearson Education. We are trying to obtain reprint rights to a poster you saved to Pinterest: Set Your Imagination On Fire Read a Banned Book. Do you have any source information on the artist so we can obtain permission to reprint in our forthcoming book please?
